NCRCRD Public Value Webinar

Announcing a public value webinar produced by the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development:
Public Value
Laura Kalambokidis, University of Minnesota
Thursday, April 28th, 2011
12:00p.m. ET – 1:00p.m. EThttp://breeze.msu.edu/ncrcrd/

About the webinar: You know how your Extension programs benefit your participants, but your programs also create public value when they benefit the rest of the community. Nationwide, participants in “Building Extension’s Public Value” workshops have learned how their programs create public value and how to communicate this value to stakeholders whose support is crucial to Extension. In this webinar, you will learn the basics of the public value approach, hear examples of how some states are implementing the approach, and determine whether the “Building Extension’s Public Value” workshop and upcoming train-the-trainer course is right for you and your organization.

Registration: There is no fee for attending this webinar.

About the Speakers: Laura Kalambokidis is an Associate Professor of Applied Economics and Extension Economist at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kalambokidis developed the Building Extension’s Public Value Workshop in 2002 to help Minnesota Extension faculty advocate for their programs. She has since conducted the workshop for Extension organizations in seventeen states.
